Sade’s latest release, Soldier of Love, has forced the famously mysterious singer to emerge from her decade-long absence from the spotlight. And with rumors abounding of possible Grammy nominations, and plans for a worldwide tour in the works, Sade can run but she can’t hide from the media for the foreseeable future.
At 51, the Nigerian-born, British-raised singer has grown more comfortable with her fame, despite admitting in a recent interview, “I don’t think I’m a good star. I don’t do all the stuff.” What she does do, however, is continue to write sexy, jazzy, passion-filled songs that are timeless and universally appealing. Sade continues to stay true to herself.

If you didn’t notice, Sade has had several promotional TV appearances with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and Dancing with the Stars.
Sade performed her new single “Babyfather” on both Leno & Ferguson’s April 12th shows. I wonder if appearing on both shows the same night was a good idea? It did provide the means to reach a wide fan base by broadcasting on the two networks, ABC & NBC.
The next night, Sade performed “Babyfather” and her smash hit “Sweetest Taboo” on Dancing With the Stars. If you missed any of these live appearances, Sade’s Leno performance is streaming on nbc.com.
A slew of TV appearances are said to be the precursor to a tour announcement. In an interview with the New York Times, Sade confirmed she does “want to get on the stage and sing the songs…” She continued, “but then I just want to disappear again.” It is known that Sade treasures her privacy and her life outside the stage stays out of the limelight.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the announcement of a Sade tour before she vanishes for another 10 years! Sade tickets will vanish much more quickly!

Sade enjoyed a warm welcome back on the charts, remaining at the top of the U.S. Albums Chart with her newest release “Soldier of Love.”
Her first album since 2000’s “Lovers Rock,” “Soldier of Love” was released on February 8th, and the strength of its lead single, the namesake of the album, has propelled it to major success.
The album has received positive reviews, and debuted on the Billboard 200 chart with over 502,000 copies sold.
Sade tickets are still eluding fans, however, as news of a supporting tour is still forthcoming. We all hope to hear more soon.
